Letter of Capt. J. M. Cook

 

     Captain J. M. Cook, Confederate Army, Mount Pleasant, Texas, to Mr. Taylor, March 16, 1863. The letter informs Taylor of the death of his son, A. D. Taylor, at the battle of the Thompson’s Station on the Nashville and Decatur Railroad. “He was a high toned gentle man and good soldier,” wrote Cook.
