EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION COMMITTEE ANNUAL REPORT 2004/2005MEMBERS: Mary Castle, Debbie Cornell (9/1/04-1/31/05), Leveta Hord (2/9/05- ), Brenda McClurkin, Delores Morgan and Catherine Pica (chair) MEMBERSHIP IN COMING YEAR: Mary Castle and Catherine Pica will be going off the committee. A nomination call for one professional, and one classified, has gone to the staff. MEETINGS: Usually held once every other month -- month before the staff meeting. At times, did not meet but discussed nominations through email. THE YEAR IN SUMMATIONDebbie Cornell left the library in January which resulted in an empty position on the committee. Since there was no procedure in the policy on how to handle this, Gerald and Julie discussed this and came up with a solution. The ERC members discussed their decision and it was agreed that Leveta Hord should fill the missing slot. She received the next highest number of votes on the ballot. We decided on a deadline for submitting nominations for the Star and Outstanding Student Assistant Awards which was April 1st. (The student deadline is already in the policy and the Star award did not have a deadline. So after much discussion we decided to have them due on the same day). Some one suggested that the Star award should be in mid-March (after spring break) and others thought it would be simple to have them on the same date (easier to remember). This was also the first year that we had "Celebrating You" Awards. We even made some changes to the ERC policy with regards to when nominations should be in to be considered for a staff meeting.
