Employee Recognition Awards Committee Minutes, April 23, 1993

All members of the Awards Committee were present to select a recipient of the STAR Award from nominations and support letters received for five staff members. A secret ballot resulted in the unanimous choice of Carol Byrne. To obtain a check for the $350, the Director of Budgets and Payroll will have to figure the total amount to be submitted on the Lump Sum form which must be routed through the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The check will be prepared before the awards reception scheduled for the afternoon of May 7, 1993.

It was decided that the chair will prepare the recommendation to the Director of Libraries (to be read at the presentation of the STAR Award) and the letter of commendation to be presented with the monetary award. Jim Wellvang will again write an article for the Newsletter.

Bright Ideas nominees were considered. Tony New was selected for the month of May, and Sally Gross, for June.

Following a discussion of the order of presenting the service and STAR awards, the meeting adjourned.
