EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION COMMITTEE MINUTES, DEC. 7, 1995

All members present.

Bobbie called our meeting to order. Passed the following awards: Ginny Pinkerton for the Bright Ideas Award. Ginny saved the library $6,000 by spotting on an invoice that 125 publications could be prepaid on one invoice for a one time price, thus the savings. Audrey Bell and Linda Stidham for an Applause Award. This award is for their exhibit US Marine Corp Navajo Code Talkers, which was exceptionally well done and unusual. There was discussion for another Applause Award, but nothing was passed as we felt further discussion was going to be necessary.

We discussed Rachel Robbins' suggestion about a monthly student award. Shirley Sheets will follow up with Rachel about the ramifications of this to the students financial aid and the problems we've had with that. We will stay with our one or two students awards, as we have in the past, for the time being.

Another item discussed was what to do with the team pictures after they've been displayed. We didn't come to any conclusions, but for now we will display them down in the staff lounge and then store them in the storage room. We have let the individual pictures go back to the individual, so we do not have a collection of those.
