Minutes Employee Recognition Committee Meeting Tuesday, January 7, 1997

Present: Noel Anderson, Patty Grubaugh, Jane Thompson, Shirley Rodnitzky, Shirley Sheets. Absent: Iris Carroll.

The Committee convened at 10 a.m. in the administrative conference room to discuss nominations received since December 3, for Applause, Bright Ideas, T.E.A.M.S., and STAR awards. Nominations were discussed individually. The candidates were unanimously approved. There was a brief discussion as to whether the Entertainment Committee of the Libraries Staff Association qualified for an award under the policy guidelines. All members agreed the committee qualified for particularly outstanding service this year.

Noel Anderson, Jane Thompson, and Iris Carroll will draft the letters of commendation for Tom Wilding to present awardees at the January 28 library staff meeting. Shirley Rodnitzky will send a memo to Wilding regarding our decisions today, compile an article for the February library newsletter, and gather the appropriate award pins. After the library staff meeting, the awardees will be instructed to have their photographs taken at University Media Services for the first floor display.

Laura Blessing, the Personnel Services Librarian, will be invited to attend the February meeting. She will be the ex-officio committee member when Shirley Sheets retires.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 10:45 a.m. The next meeting will be February 4, 10 a.m. in the administrative conference room.
