EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION COMMITTEE MEETING February 3, 1998

Attending: Anderson, Carroll, Dessalegn, Jappah, Jones

A nomination for which we’d sought more information at our last meeting was approved. A Bright Ideas Award will be given to the recipient. Dessalegn will prepare the draft nomination letter for Wilding.

Two new nominations for TEAMS Awards were considered. One was approved, and one was tabled for more pending more information. In each case, a member of the Committee recused him/herself since the committee member in each case was part of the groups having been nominated. Carroll prepare the draft nomination letter for the award that cas approved. Anderson will get more information on the other nomination.

The committee discussed how to display awards and recipients. There is concern about people not getting their photos taken for the display in a timely manner. Ideas raised were: a staff awards area on the Libraries’ web site, slides as part of the PowerPoint display on Central Library monitors, and a variety of things that might make print photos for a library display happen more quickly.

The meeting adjourned at 11:35 am.
