Employee Recognition Committee

Employee Recognition Committee Minutes 02/1/99

Present: Desseglan, Howser, Jones, Madison, May
Absent: Blessing

The Committee reviewed three nominations for Applause Awards. One of the nominees received two nominations for the same efforts. A second nominee may be disqualified because of his administrative position. Dessaglan and Madison will write the letters of recognition.

The nominations for the Teams Award was again reviewed and unanimously approved. Jones will write the letter of recognition.

The Committee decided that whoever writes the letter of recognition will be responsible for orchestrating the photo shoot with the awardee and Media Services.

A question of the whereabouts of Rene Gomez' Applause Award photo arose. Jones will check into the matter.

The Committee discussed keys to the Employee Recognition Committee display case. Jones will check with Carleen about acquiring an extra key and will keep it in her office.

Revisiting mounting of the awards will be tabled until the next meeting when Blessing is present.

Jones began work on a Web page for the Committee. The URL is:
http://www.uta.edu/library/emplrec/emplrec.html Sarah is concerned about the graphics. When viewing, keep in mind the Web page is incomplete. She suggested that photos could be scanned in.

May mentioned that SEL has a nomination for a outstanding student employee recognition award. It was noted that an outstanding student award for the Fall was overlooked. The Committee was reminded that the student awards are to be given in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Jones will send out a call for Outstanding Student Awards, as well as the STAR Award around Spring Break and again in early April.
