EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION COMMITTEE JULY 16, 2002

ATTENDING: Rachel Robbins, Mark Cook, Anne Mitchell
ABSENT: Kit Goodwin, Debbie Carter

We discussed the suggestion from the electronic staff suggestion box that there be a STAR Award for LA1s and 2s and another for LA3s on up. It was felt that the 1s and 2s did not have a fair chance to receive a STAR Award when they have to compete with 3s and professionals.

The Committee felt that this issue required broader discussion. Part of the problem might be that some staff do not understand how people get nominated for the STAR Award. Rachel will approach Tom about the possibility of getting this on a staff meeting agenda. Since Rachel will be gone by the next staff meeting, it will be suggested that Julie lead the discussion. Rachel will report Tom’s response back to Committee.

There were no new nominations for the committee to consider this month.
