Intranet Steering Group Charge
Purpose: The purpose of the Intranet Steering Group (ISG) is to work with library staff to define the mission, objectives, scope, and timeline of the Libraries’ Intranet Project. The ISG will meet with staff to determine expectations for the intranet and how it could be used for informational and communication purposes and as a utility for staff to accomplish their day-to-day work. In addition, the ISG will review the Q drive to determine the disposition and retention of the files on it and which ones are appropriate to be included on the intranet. Finally, the ISG will propose a policy on the preservation and archiving of electronic files, policies and procedures. Once the broad outlines of the staff intranet are decided, then the ISG will work closely with the Core Design and Production Group (CDPG), the group tasked with the development and implementation of the intranet, informing its work and monitoring the progress it is making toward building the staff intranet. The ISG will make its recommendations to the Library Management Team by June 1, 2005.
Membership: Proposed membership in the ISG would include the following:
Administration: Karen Hopkins and Loretta Barker
Coordinators: Ramona Holmes and Sue Sappington
Staff Members: Debbie Carter, Brian Moffitt, Evelyn Barker, Suzanne Beckett, Brenda McClurkin
Core Design and Production Group: Marie Irwin to chair the CDPG and will meet with the ISG
Chair: Gerald Saxon
