Hello from Tom Lindsey
Social Science and Government Documents Librarian
University of Texas at Arlington
My office is Room 215 Central Library, located at the south end near book stack 1. I work with State of Texas and U.S. Federal publications, and am the library liaison to the Military Science Department. I maintain guides which are in the Subject Guides http://libguides.uta.edu and Course Page Guides http://libguides.uta.edu sections of the library website http://library.uta.edu .
Please contact me, Tom Lindsey, lindsey@uta.edu , with information about outdated web page referrals and recommendations for new ones to add to my pages. Thanks!
In addition to this web page, I post information about new sources of government information to a blog, lindseyt's blog, http://blog.uta.edu/~lindseyt , and to a system known as Mavspace http://mavspace.uta.edu/ under my URL http://mavspace.uta.edu/xythoswfs/webui/lindseyt . The Mavspace system, is open to viewing by anyone with a U.T. Arlington netID computer account. I have posted a lot of information there which I will move to this public webpage.
I regularly create special purpose guides, bibliographies, and directories which are not included in this web page. Please contact me at lindsey@uta.edu if you would like more information about my guides. Here are some sample titles:
Advertising Strategy: Information Sources (2004)
Amending the Constitution, A guide for student research projects (2006)
American Social Welfare Legislation. Tracing its legislative history (2004)
Broadcasting magazines and journals in the Business Source Complete database. (2007)

North American Industrial Classification System codes
related to the Communication Industries. These six digit codes are used in
databases such as Business Source Complete.
Using these codes in literature searches may lead to
articles that would not be found by searching by company name, subject, or other
methods.
“So, what do you know about our agency?” Business information sources for advertising and public relations agency interview research (2004).
Social Indicator Statistics, Potential sources of long-term data (2006)
Speech 1301, Statistics Sources (2006)
Speech 1301, Information Databases (2006)
Speech 1301, Locating Books of Quotations and Books of Humor (2006)
I will prepare a Library Course Guide for a course if requested by an instructor. The Subject and Course Guides home page http://libguides.uta.edu/index.php is a directory of guides created by myself and other librarians.
