Goals, Strategies, Actions, Outcomes: Beta

Goal 2: Increase distributed access to information resources and services

Continue developing UTA Libraries Online (leveraging portal, content management system, and other relevant technologies)

Strategies:

  • All library services are made available online; those services are easy to use for customers; managing those services by staff is easy and efficient

    Actions:
    • Services that are partially virtual will be made completely virtual (e.g. e-mail forms used by Access Services)
    • Investigate and develop 2 new online services
      • Suppliers (people we need information from): program areas, coordinators/LMT, staff who perform current off-line equivalent or related services, users of the services
      • Customers: users of the services, staff who support the services
      • Output: 2 new online services that successfully meet user needs
      • Outcome: 2 new things that users can easily and successfully complete online

    • Develop and implement automated support for staff workflows (e.g., e-reserves from faculty selection to link on UTA instructor's and UTA student's "my courses" section of UTA Libraries Online
    • Develop UTA Libraries Online into a platform independent, internationalized web site to complement personalization and customization features

  • Continue to support digitization of unique UTA resources and other resources as identified by the UTA Libraries
  • Expand support for technology adoption by UTA instructors
    • Streaming media technologies to support distributed learning
    • Development of curriculum for the Digital Media Classroom
    • Expanding hours of the Digital Media Classroom
