Applause AwardThe Applause Award may be given to a library employee at any time throughout the year. It recognizes effective or noteworthy performance for a one-time activity. The award consists of a letter of commendation from the Director of the Library and a pin that symbolizes appreciation. Alison Baker: TexShare grant/creating minimal level records for maps in the Virginia Garrett Collection. Barbara Hammond: Library Outreach activity at the 1999 UTA Arts Festival paper marbling demonstration. Shirley Rodnitzky: Created finding aids for Fort Worth Star-Telegram photographs. Kit Goodwin: PBS/KERA television production of The Mexican War. Michael Stapleton: Corrected Voyager/PULSe editor/author indexing problem within short time. Anne Mitchell: Library outreach work as UTA Gold Team liaison. Mark Cook: Compiled a list of paper and electronic journal titles for Dr. Neal Smatresk (Dean of Science) for distribution to Science faculty. Lewis Crow: Training sessions for Libraries staff on microcomputer applications. Michele Wilson and Linda Depken: Improvements to current periodicals checkout procedure (done entirely in the circulation module). Deborah Cornell: “Conservation in a Box”—preventative maintenance effort for central reference print collection. Candy Almaguer: Creating screens for the monitor in the public area using PowerPoint.
Outstanding Student Employee AwardPaul Jacinto: Indispensable service in the Science and Engineering Library—dependability, conscientious work and excellent job performance. Rebecca Troung: Wonderful attitude and reliability in the InterLibrary Loan office—consistently courteous and professional when interacting with patrons and staff members.
TEAMS AwardThe TEAMS Award is given throughout the year. TEAMS (Together Each Achieves More Success) Award recognizes a team for outstanding achievement. All teams of two or more people who conduct projects or address issues are eligible. These may be standing, appointed, ad hoc, or self-initiated committees and task forces both within the library deptartments and inter deptartment committees. Criteria include:
Electronic Group: Mark Cook, Barbara Howser, Ramona Holmes, Marie Irwin, Ginny Pinkerton. These staff members were given the TEAMS award for designing the processes to provide access to the Libraries’ fast-growing list of electronic resources. ACS Voyager Pattern Project Group: Mayling Barcroft, Debbie Carter, Randy Casebier, Jill Emery, Michelle Gamble, Patty Grubaugh, Leveta Hord, Ginny Pinkerton. Created necessary publication patterns for all currently received print serial titles. Access Services (InterLibrary Loan staff): Bea Cantu, Kim Dessalegn, Diana Hines, Isha Hudson, Sara Jones, David Rankin, Elizabeth Reed, Rachel Robbins, Julie Williams. For improvements in service including technological and timeliness and service philosophy; friendliness, courteous, helpful, efficient. |
