Staff AwardsBright Ideas AwardDonald Quarles created a notebook containing AFA current periodicals information. Margaret Oerter for her idea and creation of a searchable database for the ensemble sheet music. Leveta Hord for a database she created using Access to record holdings for the ScienceDirect journal database. Applause AwardMichael Doran was awarded the Applause Award for his work in constructing the Web page for “Retreat 2000: Strategic Planners Spend Two Days in Paradise.” Marie Irwin received the award for fixing some “tricky software stuff” and setting up an Excel program for personnel evaluation. Donna Andrews curated the Black History month exhibit in February 2000. Dwayne Schrag curated the Black History month exhibit in February 2000. Anne Mitchell curated the Black History month exhibit in February 2000. T.EA.M.S. AwardBindery Team – Donna Andrews, Mayling Barcroft, Randy Casebier, Deborah Cornell, Connie Owensby, Jane Thompson, and Michele Wilson. SEL Web page – Mary Jo Handke, Amy May, Terry Wang, and Michele Wilson. As a team they designed and created a new SEL Web page. Current Periodicals Move – Anne Mitchell, Jim Collins, Niyi Adedeji, and David Rankin were awarded the TEAMS award for their successful project of moving the current periodicals from one space in the basement to another space in the basement. STAR AwardCo-winners: Anne Mitchell and Marie Irwin. Anne Mitchell received the award for her sustained effort in changing the checkout period information in Voyager for the children’s books in the Reading Resources Room. Marie Irwin established the library’s media lab, maintained the Libraries’ Web with up-to-date information, and created an online evaluation form.
