• Gerald Saxon has been selected as the new Dean of Libraries. Saxon has served as Assistant Director for Special Collections; Associate Director for Special Collections, Branch Libraries and Development; and Associate Director of Libraries. During his tenure with the Libraries, he has raised more than $3 million in grants, gifts, and in-kind collections, and also started the Friends of the UTA Libraries. He has been a strong advocate for the development of a customer-centric library where collections, technology, services, and facilities come together in a seamless way.  Saxon is the author of many books, including Transitions:  A Centennial History of The University of Texas at Arlington, 1895-1995.  He holds a Ph.D. in history from the University of North Texas.    [UTA Today, 4/13/04]

   
• RefWorks is here!  “A Web-based bibliography and database manager that allows users to create their own personal database by importing reference from text files or online databases. They can use these reference in writing their papers and automatically format the paper and the bibliography in seconds"

  Archival data may go back as far as 1976. Updated throughout the year, some companies may report weekly. The database provides corporate linkage information on more than 170,000 of the most prominent parent companies and their affiliates. The database includes major public and private businesses in the United States and throughout the world. Information is compiled and updated from information supplied by the listed companies themselves, as well as from research gathered from business publications and annual reports. Company records may include all or some of the following data: net income and net worth, subsidiary relationships, assets and liabilities, percentage of ownership, number of employees, mailing address, years in business, phone and fax numbers, fiscal year-end, e-mail addresses, key personnel (names and titles), web site, Board of Directors, business description, investor relations information, SIC codes, counts of plants and showrooms, sales, outside legal firms, earnings, auditor, and stock information. Generally, public companies from the NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX exchanges are included.
