Our meeting begins with a chartered cruise aboard the M/V Sam Houston for a sunset tour along the Houston Ship Chanel and the Port of Houston Turning Basin. The cruise departs promptly at 5:30 p.m. from the Port’s Sam Houston Pavilion and will last about an hour and a half to two hours. The cruise is complimentary, but reservations are a must as admission will be by pre-registration only. You won’t want to miss this cruise as it is a fabulous opportunity to see a side of Houston that few visitors get to enjoy. The tour will depart at 5:30 p.m. from the Port’s Sam Houston Pavilion. PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE SAM HOUSTON PAVILION BY 5:00 P.M. SO THAT THERE IS PLENTY OF TIME TO CHECK-IN THROUGH SECURITY AND TO BOARD THE VESSEL. You will need to show a photo ID for entry into the Port of Houston and to board the vessel. Security regulations also prohibit (a) the carrying of any camera equipment, (b) the taking of photographs from aboard the boat, (c) backpacks and (d) oversized purses. The Port of Houston Authority does not allow food or beverages on the boat; however, the TMS has made arrangements with the Port for complimentary beverages and finger foods to be served during the cruise. Directions to the M/V Sam Houston Pavilion Exit East Loop 610 at Clinton Drive (exit #28). Proceed west (right) on Clinton, pass McCarty to Gate 8. Enter Gate 8 and stay to the right. A security guard and signs will direct you to the pavilion.
