globe05.gif (269 bytes)  The Texas Map Society (TMS) was organized in November 1996 to foster the study, understanding and collecting of historical maps and the history of cartography. Membership only requires an interest in maps of any nature and any focus. Members support the activities of the society and participate in special events and programs. The Texas Map Society  is one of only a few such societies in the United States and the only one in Texas.
