Microform Special Collections

Microfilm and microfiche in Special Collections include historical records for Texas cities and counties, historical Texas labor organizations’ newspapers and journals, and municipal, ecclesiastical, notary, and civil records spanning nearly four centuries of the history of Yucatan and Honduras. 

Holdings include: 

  • Historical city directories for most of the larger Texas cities 

  • Historical newspapers and journals of Texas labor organizations 

  • Texas history resources, including the Bexar Archives, Thomas W. Streeter imprints, and histories of the conquistadors 

  • As a member of the Texas State Library's Regional Historical Resource Depository (RHRD), county records on microfilm for these Texas counties:  Collin, Ellis, Henderson, Hood, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Tarrant.   

  • Honduran records, including six major sections of the Honduras National Archives, eleven Municipal Archives, two Judiciary Archives, a large portion of the Bishopric of Comayagua’s Archives, records from the Cathedral San Miguel at Tegucigalpa, and two collections from the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History. 

  • Yucatán records, including 1,078 reels of microfilm of records from the Archivo de la Mitra, 1557-1931; Archivo Notarial, 1689-1900; Archivo General del Estado, 1683-1933; and the Hereroteca del Estado, 1821-1980.
