Course Number: ART292 / ART392
Course Description:
This studio course will focus on the development of storytelling strategies applied to Design processes. Through an exploration of time-based techniques and digital fabrication, students will understand the importance of applying narrative perspectives to design research processes and product design. Through guided prompts and independent-led projects, students will experiment with narrative possibilities to understand Design as an expansive field that stimulates curiosities and offers new perspectives to engage creatively with different audiences. In this class, we will consider Design not only as a discipline that solves problems in a rational manner but also that transforms meaning and shapes viewership through play and emotion.
