You’ll also learn about the impact of OER adoption on DFW rates as well as platforms and support available to all UTSA faculty adopting or creating OER.
Fund your OER Project with the UTA CARES Grant – Drop-In Session (Virtual)
Wednesday, 3/8/23, 1-2pm
In this drop-in virtual session, the UTA Libraries OER team will share information about the upcoming UTA CARES Grant application cycle, including new due dates and new grant categories.
The UTA CARES Grant Program, sponsored by UTA Libraries, was established in 2017 to support educators interested in practicing open education through the adoption of OER and, when no suitable open resource is available, through the creation of new OER or the adoption of library-licensed or other free content.
Webinar: Open Pedagogy and Renewable Assessment
Thursday, 3/9/23, 9-10:30am
In this introductory workshop into open pedagogy from the Ontario Colleges Open Education Working Group (COEWG), we will begin by exploring the idea of renewable assessments. Renewable assessments are an interesting way to engage students in work that lives beyond the course as opposed to a "disposable" assignment which is thrown out after it has been graded. Renewable assessment is one method through which we can begin to integrate open pedagogy into our classrooms, a pedagogical practice which invites learners to take the driver's seat to their own learning. If you're interested in exploring new methods of how to engage your students, join us in this discussion on open pedagogy and renewable assessments!
