Staff Spotlight: Robin Rozon
The first thing you notice when you meet Robin Rozon in UTA Libraries' Access and Discovery Department is her unwavering positivity. Whether helping a student locate a lost book, answering a patron's question, or ensuring that resources are readily available, her enthusiasm for her work is undeniable. For Robin, being a part of the Libraries isn't just a job—it's a mission to help students achieve their best.
Robin’s journey to UTA Libraries has been an adventure in itself. Originally from Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, she has traveled across the U.S., working in different libraries before finding a home in Texas.
"I started in the libraries when I moved to Indiana, where I was the night circulation manager at Valparaiso University. From there, I went to Colorado, Kansas, and Texas, working in different library positions," Robin said. "I have been here for a little over two years, and every day, I am learning something new and enjoying every minute."
As the Lead Library Specialist for Resource Delivery, Robin plays a crucial role in ensuring students and faculty have seamless access to library resources. Whether retrieving books, locating missing materials, or managing overdue items, she sees her work as essential to helping students reach their academic goals.
"I am here to help the patrons. My goal is to make sure that they can succeed and follow through on their dreams after they graduate and get where they need to be," Robin said. "Every day, I am learning something new. I think that if you don't learn something, then your day is wasted. I like learning things and see every day as a challenge."
Her love of learning and sense of community was shaped by her hometown of Cornwall, Ontario, a city she describes as warm and tightly knit.
"I am from Eastern Ontario, so I do speak French. My town is a hop, skip, and a jump from Massena, New York, which is about a 15-minute drive," Robin shared. "Cornwall is a very close-knit community; most people know each other. Growing up, we had several different mills: textile, cotton, and paper. While they are no longer there, the city has continued growing and is still a very vibrant place."
At UTA Libraries, Robin has found a new community dedicated to supporting students and fostering their success. She takes pride in being part of a team that works daily to make the Libraries a welcoming and resourceful space.
Through her dedication, kindness, and commitment to learning, Robin embodies the essence of UTA Libraries—a place where knowledge is shared, students are supported, and opportunities for success are endless.
