UTA Libraries Launches User Experience Survey to Better Understand Needs of the Maverick Community
UTA Libraries is excited to announce the upcoming launch of a comprehensive user experience survey designed to better understand the needs, preferences and priorities of its patrons, including students, faculty and staff.
The survey will officially open Sept. 8, and UTA Libraries invites the entire Maverick community to participate.
“Our goal is to reconnect with our users and hear directly from them,” Jennifer Lane, Director of Grants and Assessment, said. “By gaining deeper insight into who our users are and what they truly need from their library, we can better serve and support their academic and research endeavors.”
The brief, user-friendly questionnaire will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes to complete and will ask participants about their awareness and use of library resources such as print journals, interlibrary loan services and research services, as well as their preferences for library spaces and study environments. It will also explore how users begin their research journey, whether through Google, the Libraries’ website or other means.
“We want to know which resources and spaces resonate with our community,” Katie Pierce, Assessment Librarian, said. “Do our users prefer quiet study areas or more lively, collaborative spaces? How often do they use our specialized services? Understanding these factors will help us engage more meaningfully with our patrons.”
To encourage participation, UTA Libraries is offering prizes for students who complete the survey.
On launch day, Sept. 9, Libraries staff members will host a tent at the Library Mall directly in front of the Central Library. They will offer snacks and drinks and give away UTA-branded swag and pop culture stickers.
The survey is available online starting Sept. 8 at https://utaedu.questionpro.com/LibrarySurvey.
Lane emphasized the importance of community involvement.
“Mavericks, your voice matters. This is your chance to shape how we understand and serve you,” Lane said. The survey is quick and easy to complete and a great way to ensure the Libraries reflect your needs.”
UTA Libraries encourages all faculty, staff, and students to take part in this opportunity to share their insights. QR codes linking directly to the survey will be widely available around campus on launch day, making participation easy and accessible.
