How to Request Items from Storage

The Library Collection Depository is an off-site storage facility for older and less-used books. We can retrieve materials from this location for UTA faculty, staff and students. Five maximum requests allowed per day per person.

Step 1

Go to the UTA Library Catalog and enter the title of your desired item in the search box. You can use the search box on the Libraries home page.

Step 2

Please search the Journal title for availability. Then search by year, volume and issue.

NOTE: Articles in print journals are not included in the library catalog.

Step 3

Once the item has been found, you may need to click on the "(+1 More)" text to display all holdings on the brief record.

NOTE: There may be several records, and you might have to scroll down to find the one you want.

Step 4

The range of coverage is displayed with the call number and location information.

Step 5

Once you have identified the correct record, click on the title to get to the item record

Step 6

The location information displays at the bottom of the item record.

Step 7

Under the "Get It" section, select: "Please sign in to check if there are any request options." Click on "Sign In."

Step 8

Log in using: "UTA Sign In."

Step 9

Enter your UTA email address.

Step 10

Enter your UTA password and click "Sign In."

Step 11

In the "Get It" section, select "Check Availability" on the location previously identified (Library Collection Depository)

NOTE: You can also click on the > arrow to the right side of the screen for the availability information.

Step 12

You will need to find the item you wish to request (Year, Volume and Number). To find more volumes or issues, click on "SHOW MORE ITEMS." Keep clicking on "SHOW MORE ITEMS" until the item you want displays.

Step 13

To the right of the item you want, select "Request."

Step 14

Select "Pickup Location"

Step 15

Select the library where you would like to pick up you book.

NOTE: "PERSONAL DELIVERY" is only available to Faculty and PhD students. It will not display as an option for everyone.
