UTA Special Collections offers mediated reproduction services to students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Researchers can discover archival materials through the UTA Special Collections finding aids, MavMatrix, Fort Worth Star Telegram Card Catalog, and other unique collections as described on our main webpage. 

All researchers seeking Rights and Reproduction Services must complete a Reproduction Request Form to begin an order. Once complete, please send the form and the project’s information to spcoref@uta.com. 

Photographic negatives are kept in a cold storage vault and must acclimate from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to room temperature at least 24 hours before handling. 

Payment and Sales Tax 

All orders require pre-payment prior to receiving images. Payment may be made by credit, debit, check, or money order. University clients may make payment via Inter-Departmental Transfer (IDT). Checks and money orders must be payable to The University of Texas at Arlington. 

Orders for Texas residents and businesses must have 8.25% sales tax applied to the final total. Non-profit organizations must complete and present an exemption form or sales tax will be applied to their order. Sales tax is not added to out-of-state orders. 

Fee Schedule 

Fees are based on the type of service and requestor. Prices stated are per image or file. Other fees may apply depending on the request’s complexity and will be communicated by Special Collections staff.  

Those wishing to photograph UTA Special Collections materials must make an appointment in advance.  

For Special Handling Requests, orders requiring off-site processing incur a charge of $50 per order and additional vendor charges. 

*Academic Users with commercial publishers must adhere to the Commercial User fee schedule. 

Permission to reproduce materials within UTA Special Collections materials is required for all users. To begin your order, please fill out our Rights and Reproductions Form. Once completed, send the form and information about the project to spcoref@uta.com.  

In some cases, UTA Special Collections may not hold the copyright of materials in our collections. We are able to digitize the material for access, but it is the responsibility of the customer to obtain licensing permission from the appropriate entity.
