Collegiate Church of Guadalupe

The image shows the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe constructed from 1695-1709 on the site where the Virgin Mary reputedly appeared to the Indian Juan Diego. The Basilica is in the Villa de Guadelupe, also known as the Villa de Guadelupe Hidalgo which was formerly a separate town, but today part of Mexico City, where U.S. and Mexican representatives negotiated the Treaty of Guadelupe Hidalgo.
