A lithograph portrait of American military leader General William Jenkins Worth dressed in military uniform. Worth served under General Zachary Taylor at the Battle of Monterey, commanding the 2nd Regular Division. Worth led the advance against Saltillo in November 1846 and later helped plan the southern campaign under General Winfield Scott in Vera Cruz and participated in the battles of Cerro Gordo, Churubusco, Molino del Rey, and Chapultepec.
