A lithograph portrait of Mexican military leader General Ciriaco Vasquez in military uniform. General Ciriaco Vasquez commanded the Mexican defense of the hill known as "El Telegrafo" at the Battle of Cerro Gordo. He died there attempting to rally his troops after they were suprprised by U.S. Army Colonel William S. Harney's troops.
