Notes of the Mexican War: J. Jacob Oswandel

A portrait print of J. Jacob Oswandel who enlisted in the war in Company C First Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers under Captain William F. Small which was attached to General Winfield Scott's army during the Mexican American War. Oswandel served from December 11, 1846 through July 29, 1848 and provided a first-hand American account on the war through his particpation in the Siege of Vera Cruz, the Battle of Cerro Gordo, the Siege of Puebla, and the occupation of Mexico City.
