Army involved in the defense of Fort Brown from May 3-9 as well as the battles of Palo Alto and Resaca de la Palma on May 8-9, 1846 and two letters regarding the list of officers, the first dated in August 18, 1846 in Camarago and the second deated September 7, 1846. This list of officers is included (typewritten) at the end of the book with the remarks added by the author as well as the letter between T. B. Thorpe and W. W. S. Bliss.
