Blue Ridge Quick Step : Composed and Arranged for the Piano Forte by Francis Buck and Respectfully Dedicated to James A. Cowardin Esq. of Richmond Va

Sheet music for "Blue Ridge Quick Step" for the piano, with an illustrated lithograph print cover depicting American troops marching up a path. Lyrics to "When the Moon on the Lake is Beaming" are handwritten on the back page. While the cover image possibly references a scene in the United States, such views also presented themselves to Scott's troops on the march on the Mexican National Road between Puebla and Mexico City. A similar scene of Mexican troops marching on the National Road titled "Rio Frio" was part a later lithograph album by John Phillips and Alfred Rider titled Mexico Illustrated in Twenty-six Views, published in London in 1848. [See Ben Huseman, "Rio Frio : No. 131," in Eyewitness to War?: Prints and Daguerreotypes of the Mexican War, 1846-1848, Sandweiss, Stewart, and Huseman (Fort Worth, Texas: Amon Carter Museum, 1989), 302-303.]
