A lithograph portrait of Colonel Lucas Balderas, who commanded Artillery in the Mina National Guard Battalion and was killed at the Battle of Molino del Rey on September 8, 1847. Earlier he had led the same unit, which consisted largely of artisans, in support of the Polkos revolt on February 26, 1847.
