The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the first and only public university in the U.S. to award degrees in the 18th century. It serves more than 29,000 students and its research enterprise has doubled in the last decade to over $1 billion in annual expenditures. BeAM@CAROLINA is a network of makerspaces where any UNC student, staff, or faculty member can join the UNC maker community in the design and creation of physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship, and recreation.
