With furry pet friends, wagging tails and friendly barks, Doggy Days returned to the UTA Central Library for the final time for the spring semester April 17.
The event relieved students of the stress connected with tests, papers and assigned reading, leaving them smiling.
Students showed up in large numbers, eagerly waiting for their turn with one of the five therapy dogs. During each visit, students could pet, snuggle with the dogs, and interact with their handlers to learn more about them.
Anjela Johnson, a sophomore in the Engineering program, stated that the event allowed her to de-stress from a tough week, providing her with a moment to relax.
"I had a tough week, but Doggy Days turned it around. Those dogs didn't just make me smile; they brought instant happiness," Anjela said.
Tristan Arnold, a Lead Library Specialist at UTA Libraries, expressed his enthusiasm about having students back in the library.
"It's exciting to have them back," Tristan said. "We hope that students will take advantage of this opportunity to relax and de-stress with some furry companions in the Libraries."
Yashna Reddy, a computer science graduate student, stated that while the visit with the dog is short, you get a chance to connect with them.
"I personally loved the dog named Sassy. She is living up to her name. She is a tiny dog with a big, loving attitude," Yashna said. "I instantly fell in love with her the moment I saw her."
Doggy Days is a fantastic event that brings relaxation to UTA students. If you could not make it out to the Central Library for April's Doggy Day event, it will return for the fall semester.
So, remember to check the UTA Libraries website and social media channels for future events.
