Highlights from the Printmaking on Fabric Workshop

The Central Library's FabLab Printmaking on Fabric Workshop on Sept. 27 allowed students to learn about block printing on fabric.
The workshop event allowed students to design a personalized drawstring bag using custom-printed fabric. This event taught students the importance of supporting sustainable fashion while keeping our planet healthy by using bio-degradable materials that won't harm nature.
Limited spaces were available for this workshop. The enthusiasm for the event was evident with many quickly securing their spots. Those who missed out are already eagerly awaiting the next opportunity.
Apporva Konidela, a grad student in computer science, stated that she thought it would take a lot of work to make a personalized bag.
"I had zero experience in printmaking, but the instructors were patient and encouraging," Apoorva said. "I was able to make a cute bag with my favorite cartoon character called Pororo."
The Printmaking on Fabric Workshop held at the Central Library's FabLab was a successful event where attendees learned new skills and created custom-printed fabric. They also received a stylish drawstring bag as a souvenir.
