Brayden Itz excitedly discusses with us about his work as student associate with the FabLab in the University of Texas at Arlington, Central Library. As a student, Itz found himself in awe of the innovations being carried out by students and staff at FabLab. That aligned with his interest in design and the desire to work in that space.

He worked with the Libraries for two years and has earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design. When he applied for the position, he was able to analyze how the job would align with his major and additionally being able to work on graphic designing. Eventually, as he learned about rapid manufacturing and industrial design and how that intertwined with visual communication, it confirmed his forethought.

Going beyond academics and moving to a professional setting, Brayden tells us how he became proficient with signing up, delegating, and multi-tasking when the team undertook different projects. As an added bonus, he enjoyed helping others with their projects. “I'm hoping that my ability to multitask at a fast pace follows me into my design career,” he adds to the conversation.

Brayden strongly recommends those who consider applying to UTA Libraries to see how various positions align with their interests and complement their skill set.
