I would like to introduce Emilie Algenio, new Director of Publishing at the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries. She comes to us from Texas A&M University, and has 19 years of experience in libraries.

Alexandra Pirkle (AP): As a way of introducing yourself in this current environment, what piece of media (book/movie/TV show/album/etc.) would you say best represents yourself? Why?

Emilie Algenio (EA): If I may, I would say a pot of homemade soup. I love to cook and I love to share.

AP: What three words best describe your personal aesthetic (e.g. cozy, eclectic, whimsical, vintage, etc.)?

EA: Hodgepodge, light to dark.

AP: What makes you most excited to work for UTA Libraries?

EA: The students and the Libraries' staff!

AP: What is something about you that others would be surprised to know?

EA: I love photography, especially the work of photojournalists, like Sebastião Salgado.

Thank you, Emilie! We are excited to have you on board.
