Related Topics
I would like to introduce Grace Backus, new Experiential Learning Events Coordinator for the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries! She has two years of experience in libraries and comes to us from a Sylvan Learning Center.
Alexandra Pirkle (AP): As a way of introducing yourself in this current environment, what piece of media (book/movie/TV show/album/etc.) would you say best represents yourself? Why?
Grace Backus (GB): I’d say the movie Moonrise Kingdom. It’s one of my favorite movies and I love the aesthetic.
AP: What three words best describe your personal aesthetic (e.g. cozy, eclectic, whimsical, vintage, etc.)?
GB: My aesthetic is colorful, chaotic, and artsy. Very maximalist. I also stand firm in my belief that Halloween décor is year round décor so, my aesthetic is very spooky as well.
AP: What makes you most excited to work for UTA Libraries?
GB: I am so excited to work with students and build events and relationships. We have so many resources that we can use to learn and grow!
AP: What is something about you that others would be surprised to know?
GB: One of my hobbies is doing SFX makeup. I love turning people into zombies and monsters.
Thank you for the interview, Grace, and we are excited to have you on board!
