Alexandra Pirkle (AP): As a way of introducing yourself in this current environment, what piece of media (book/movie/TV show/album/etc.) would you say best represents yourself? Why?

Lora Rosman (LR): I would say Daft Punk’s album Discovery describes me best. It is electronic music that is filled with ambivalence, growth and being in constant motion that reminds me that I am an explorer, always learning and experiencing new things in life with an open mind and heart. Learning is constant!

AP: What three words best describe your personal aesthetic (e.g. cozy, eclectic, whimsical, vintage, etc.)?

LR: Comfortable, eclectic, nonmaterial

AP: Since you're new to Texas, what Texas-specific things are you most excited to try?

LR: I am most interested in trying Texas barbecue, going to the water parks, and the Texas State Fair.

AP: What makes you most excited to work for UTA Libraries?

LR: I am most excited being in an institution where there is great focus on innovation that can promote academic growth and achievement for our students, faculty, and staff.

AP: What is something about you that others would be surprised to know?

LR: I am an enrolled tribal member with the San Carlos Apache tribe, and during my undergraduate years I was part of the American Indian Student Association where we focused on contemporary issues in Indian Country and educated others on how these issues are impacting Native American communities today.

Thank you, Lora! We are excited to have you on board as a full-time employee.
