I would like to introduce Matthew Duncan, new Programmer Analyst for the University of Texas at Arlington Libraries! He has 33 years of experience in programming, as well as experience as an instructor at the college level.

Alexandra Pirkle (AP): As a way of introducing yourself in this current environment, what piece of media (book/movie/TV show/album/etc.) would you say best represents yourself? Why?

Matthew Duncan (MD): Galaxy Quest. I like science fiction and fantasy plus I enjoy movies that don't take themselves to seriously. Galaxy Quest pays homage to Star Trek while having fun at the same time.

AP: What two words best describe your personal aesthetic (e.g. cozy, eclectic, whimsical, vintage, etc.)?

MD: Adaptable and Concise.

AP: What makes you most excited to work for UTA Libraries?

MD: Working in a new environment providing dynamic learning environments for students.

AP: What is something about you that others would be surprised to know?

MD: I have been hit by a car. Specifically, a doctor in a Volkswagen Bug. Kind of funny.

Thank you, Matthew! We are excited to have you on board (and that you are okay following that car accident!).
