Morgan Rowe-Morris, a multidisciplinary librarian at UTA Libraries, is a new member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals. He was approved for membership in July.

The Academy of Health Information Professionals is a professional development and career recognition program founded by the Medical Library Association in 1978.

Membership is based on three areas of achievement: academic preparation, professional experience and professional accomplishment. Members have access to several resources, including career development, planning and mentoring.

Rowe-Morris stated that he is honored and humbled to be a part of this professional organization.

“Joining the Academy provides access to a network of health science librarians that will allow me to pursue unique opportunities and give back to the profession,” Morgan said. “The chance to learn and connect provided by the Academy should help me serve our students better.”

The Academy also seeks to promote lifelong learning and recognize the achievements of professionals in continuing education, teaching, publishing, research, and other contributions to the profession.

Tomi Gunn, AHIP Program Coordinator, stated they are pleased to welcome Rowe-Morris as a member of the Academy.

“We congratulate Mr. Rowe-Morris on this credential and for continuing to demonstrate the high standards of professional practice to which you and the Medical Library Association are committed,” Gunn stated in a letter.
