As you walk through the doors of the Libraries Administration office suite on the sixth floor of the Central Library building, you are greeted with a hearty hello and a bright smile from one of UTA Libraries' newest staff members Indigo Passariello.

The Howard University graduate helps students get settled into their new job and makes them feel at home at the library. Indigo knows the feelings that students have as they start a new job because she worked through school.

"I wanted to do work where I could play to my strengths. The things that I have realized through working different jobs is that I really like front-facing work," Indigo said. "I like to help people with organization and reaching their goals."

One of the draws to come work for UTA Libraries for Indigo was her experience at the library at Howard, which positively impacted her college experience.

"I spent most of my time, when I was not in class, at the library. But it was a very different library than this library. I have never seen a library quite like this one," she said. "Seeing all of the resources we have for students, if I had known that this school existed when I was applying for schools, I would have applied here knowing that the library was like this."

Indigo stated that she understands how stressful it can be to go to school and working. While in college, she worked her way through school, so she uses that experience as she helps students with their paperwork as they get settled into working at the library.

Along with helping students, people will see Indigo at the front desk in the administration office suite helping people that come, answering questions, filing, and data organization. She also does the separation paperwork when a student employee decides to leave the library or switch to a new department.

Since joining the library in January, Indigo shared that she is continuing to learn from students and fellow staff members. She appreciates the helpfulness from everyone and the warm welcome to the library family.
