Embracing the spirit of the holiday season, UTA Libraries will adjust its operating hours to allow students and staff members to spend time with family and friends.
John Wang, Dean of Libraries, stated that it has been a privilege to be a part of the academic journey for students, and feels that this temporary change in hours will be a great benefit.
"With the holidays approaching, the library staff is going to take a breather and relax a little bit. The downtime will help rejuvenate the library staff to welcome you after the new year," Wang said. "We wish everyone a great holiday and enjoy the time with family and friends."
Starting Dec. 16, the Central Library will remain open with winter break hours, with the two branches, the West Campus Library and the Science and Engineering Library, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
The Central Library will close on Dec. 19 for needed electrical upgrades.
Additional days the Central Library will be closed include Dec. 22 -26, Dec. 30-31 and Jan. 1.
Library patrons can view the complete holiday hours for UTA libraries on the libraries' website.
Regular operating hours for all three branches will resume Tuesday, Jan. 16, with the start of the spring semester.
Wang expressed his thanks for the support that UTA Libraries continues to receive from the university community and beyond.
"We appreciate that students love the library so much and spend so much time here whether it is studying, going through tutoring, reading a book or doing a group study," he said. "We really felt loved by our users."
We at UTA Libraries feel privileged to provide the resources so you can be successful on your educational journey as well as a place to build community. We look forward to the upcoming spring semester to help you on this educational path.
Have a safe and wonderful holiday.
