Telling stories through eye-catching photos and videos is the role that Sean Donohoe has taken on as the new multimedia producer for UTA Libraries.

Sean brings a wide range of experience to the position here at the library. He has worked in the film industry for such organizations as the Sundance Film Festival and has been a teacher and overseen the film department at an international School in Hong Kong.

As the multimedia producer, Sean aims to connect the library with students, faculty, and staff through the projects he produces.

“There are all kinds of amazing things going on here that people don’t know about. One of the things I really want to do is to let the students and the general public know what we are doing here,” Sean said. “I want us to have our finger on the pulse of campus life and for students to check our Instagram, YouTube channels and so forth. I want it to be a place they interact with daily.”

Sean stated that through the content he and the marketing and communications team produce, he hopes to make the library an even more happening place than it is currently.

“I hope students like the kind of content we are putting out and they interact with it, gaining something valuable from it. Also, I hope they can learn more about their campus because it is such a big campus,” Sean said. “I hope we can make their job as a student a little bit easier by letting them know the various resources we have and all the wonderful things they can accomplish if they use those things here at the library.”

Sean expressed his thanks for his warm reception since joining the staff here at UTA Libraries.

“The reception I’ve received has exceeded my expectations. Any time you start a new job, it is nerve-wracking, and you don’t know -how you will fit in with the culture, but every single person I have interacted with here on campus has treated me great,” he said. “Everyone is full of smiles and positivity. It is a fun-loving atmosphere. It sounds a little cheesy, but I have felt comfortable, and I have felt at home.”
