UTA Libraries Student Assistant Spotlight: Akshay Kumar Kirankumar Momaya

Meet Akshay Kumar Kirankumar Momaya:, one of UTA Libraries' student employees pursuing a master's degree in electrical engineering. He works as a Maintenance Assistant at the Central Library's, FabLab.  

From an early age, Akshay showed a keen interest in discovering new things and expanding his technical knowledge, which led him to the university.  

At UTA Libraries’ Fab Lab, he manages 3D printers and other machines that turn glass, wood, and metals into new items and keeps the lab well-organized so students and staff can use the facilities seamlessly. Akshay's daily work revolves around fixing broken equipment and resolving technical or repair issues to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.  

 

This passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring others led him to create the "Mission Critical" YouTube channel, where he offers valuable insights, showcases his electronic projects, and provides step-by-step repair guides. The channel allows him to share his electronics and repair expertise.  

Outside of life at the university, Akshay loves swimming and going on bike trips which allow him to unwind, recharge and rejuvenate. This enables him to approach his work with renewed focus and energy. 

Akshay's journey as a student, maintenance assistant, and content creator can be an example to others showing that through hard work, anything is possible.
