"Score!" - Exhibit Showcases UTA Athletics

UTA athletics were spotlighted in the exhibit, “Score!”

Using UTA Libraries Special Collections photos, the exhibit showed the early days of baseball, basketball, and track on campus; briefly looked at the end of Maverick football; and noted the many Olympians and Paralympians from UTA.

Co-curators Lea Worcester and Evelyn Barker based the exhibit on research they conducted for their book “University of Texas at Arlington,” which uses photos to chronicle the history of campus.

“This exhibit highlights the value of sports at UTA and emphasizes team spirit and pride,” Worcester said. “It also brings greater awareness to underrepresented athletes. The number of UTA students who became Paralympians through the decades is amazing.”
