3D Models
Honoree's Remarks
For hundreds of years, art students have learned to draw using plaster casts of famous sculptures.
I selected 3D print reproductions of sculptures of hands and heads, which students will be able to check out and use for drawing practice. I chose models that are complex enough to provide a challenge (hands are notoriously hard to draw) yet not so intricate that beginners would get lost in a forest of minute detail.
Lightweight 3D prints are perfect for this application, better than plaster, which is heavy, dusty, and fragile.
