Honoree's Remarks

The Production of Difference illustrates how the social constructions of race and racial identity have always been, and remain, fundamental to directing our collective understandings, enactments, and assessments of management and labor in the United States. It highlights how many of the outcome disparities observed in organizations and society are the byproducts of race being intentionally construed to establish and enhance the racial hierarchy, with immense implications for how we work and live together - or apart.
