Dr. Chris Evans

One of the things I enjoy most is I work with students from majors all across the UTA campus. My main goal, whether in marching band, concert band, or music education courses is helping students develop into the best version of themselves. Developing the Leader Within You 2.0 is a wonderful tool to help our students do just that. As Maxwell points out, “Everything rises and falls on leadership. The world becomes a better place when people become better leaders. Developing yourself to become the leader you have the potential to be will change everything for you. It will add to your effectiveness, subtract from your weaknesses, divide your workload, and multiply your impact.” In our role as educators, it is imperative we help our students learn “soft skills” such as self-discipline, problem solving, and serving others. These skills take them far beyond the pedagogical knowledge of our classrooms and into their roles as productive members of society.
