Honoree's Remarks
I have always been interested in folk art, primarily folk literature. In my children’s literature courses, for example, we trace narrative motifs from traditional folk and fairy tales all the way to contemporary fantasy fiction.
Lately, I have become interested in puppet theater, its origins in folk art and its continuing popularity in modern art. Who knows, this might lead to an all-new course down the road.
