As artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the way we live and work, it has become increasingly important to develop high performance machine learning and especially deep learning algorithms that solve real-world problems. As the computer system design is so instrumental in the success of such algorithms in practice, gaining a good understanding of the computer system design in support of machine learning algorithms is of fundamental importance. To this end, I found this book highly timely in covering this emerging area of research. I am sure that both our faculty and students in AI and computer system research and anyone who are interested in learning AI and computer related topics can greatly benefit from reading this book.
