Honoree's Remarks
This documentary, No Mas Bebes (No More Babies), covers the forced sterilization of Mexican immigrant women while giving birth in Los Angeles in the late 1960s and early 1970s and the landmark legal case that ensued. As a reproductive scholar and family sociologist, I use the film in my courses and highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the history of reproductive justice in the United States.
